What role do you hold today?
I joined Digitec in March 2021 as an HR Manager to strengthen the company's human resources management policies.
What has been your career path?
After high school, I chose psychology based on my instincts. I followed my interests even after graduating, and although it wasn’t easy at first to find contractual stability, I persevered with the support of my family. This determination helped me establish myself in the HR field. Before joining Digitec, I worked for over 15 years in HR management roles in Italian and multinational companies across various industries. I’ve been fortunate to have supervisors who believed in me and taught me a lot, as well as extraordinary colleagues with whom I shared important milestones. If I now do what I love for a living, it’s also thanks to them.
How are people valued at Digitec?
At Digitec, there is a strong respect for each employee’s uniqueness and a solid ethical sense. These factors allow everyone to give their best. Practically speaking, Digitec shares its success through a rewards system that recognizes individual achievements based on annual objectives. Having clear goals helps prioritize daily activities and maintain focus. Regularly, we also assess competencies and organize tailored training sessions to stay updated and competitive in the market—a major challenge for any company. Finally, team-building events foster a positive work environment and enhance the sense of belonging.
How has Covid accelerated the adoption of new ways of working?
Perhaps we didn’t realize it, but we were ready for smart working before the first Covid lockdown. In just one day, all employees were equipped to work from home. We never stopped and managed to ensure continuous service to our clients safely. Covid accelerated the introduction of this working model, which was already part of our culture. Today, we know how to leverage its benefits and will maintain it even after the emergency. At the same time, we’ve learned how much we miss "living the company" and how certain workplace moments can’t be replaced by chats or virtual meetings. Our new normal will be hybrid, benefiting both the company in terms of efficiency and employees in terms of work-life balance.
How do you balance being a mother with work?
I firmly believe motherhood is more valuable than a Master's degree—it naturally develops skills like organization, decision-making, and learning from mistakes, all of which are essential in the workplace. On the other hand, having a job I find fulfilling allows me to come home with a smile, and my happiness reflects on my children. At Digitec, flexible working hours let me take my children to school without worrying about being late to work in case of unexpected events. Moreover, with smart working, I can be with them as soon as I finish work—just by “switching rooms.” As both a mother and an HR professional, I consider these benefits priceless.
What do you appreciate about your job at Digitec?
The company encourages open and direct communication, both with colleagues and management, which I deeply value. This straightforward approach also speeds up decision-making processes across all levels. Rapid decision-making is undoubtedly a competitive advantage for Digitec. Moreover, I appreciate that every decision is guided by the company's values, which are not just great to read but wonderful to experience.
What advice would you give to someone about to join the Digitec Team?
Don’t hesitate to “put yourself out there.” We’re looking for people eager to innovate, and we strongly believe everyone can contribute to the company’s success. One more thing: get ready to exercise! We have plenty of athletes in Digitec, including a team of runners who come back revitalized after a run. Thanks to a specially designed locker room with showers, we can optimize lunch breaks with exercise before returning to work!
